While exhibiting at the 10 annual Chantilly-Dulles Sugarloaf Art & Crafts exhibit in Washington Dc ;

John was comissioned to do another special one of a kind Graphics Guitar

featuring Maxfield Parrish images and graphics.

Over the years Donna Hillier has been collecting art and following the works of John T Crutchfield and decided this was the year to have him make this special collectors edition piece.

These artworks take over a month to make and we hope to finish it by the end of January!

John T Crutchfield of Metallic Art Graphics Commissioned for a Country Western Guitar featuring Top Country Legends

Back in October, while exhibiting his Metallic Art Graphics art works at the Timonium Baltimore SLM Art Expo, John Crutchfield met Steve Bond; a prominent guitar collector and music connoisseur. He was so impressed by John’s work that he commissioned a country western guitar to be made with our technique!

Six weeks later, the guitar has been completed and has inlaid photographs of the most important seminal guitar legends of country music. These include Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, & Lefty Frizzell.

The guitar used is a hand made antique wooden style and has a beautiful pitch and sound. After staying
up past 2am several nights to complete the work, the guitar is now ready for delivery to the Gaithersburg
Washington DC Craft & Art Show where Steve Bond will pick it up.

All those associated with the project had expressed exuberance and wonder of how beautiful this guitar is.

Metallic Art Graphics to be Featured in Sugar Loaf Crafts Timonium!

John Crutchfield and Metallic Art Graphics will be among many of the top crafts artists
featured at next weekend’s Sugar Loaf Crafts Festival in Timonium, MD from Friday
(09/30) through Sunday (10/02). The festival will be held at the Maryland State
Fairgrounds. Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10am – 6pm, and Sunday 10am -
5pm. If you would like to be able to find our booth location, our booth number is 388.

We will be joined by 250 talented artists producing wonderful handcrafted items in
ceramics, wood, fiber, fashion, jewelry, leather, metal, photography, painting, and
fine art. The Sugarloaf Show also features gourmet foods, live entertainment, children’s
activities, and live demonstrations.

Last week CBS invited us to be featured on Virginia This Morning to talk about our show “Sunglasses & Rock N Roll” at Artemis Gallery! John Crutchfield brought some of the sunglasses we made to the studio along with hand decorated well crafted guitars to showcase during the interview. We put a lot of time into this work and were proud to be interviewed by local television. The show was aired live Thursday morning at 9:00 AM. Take a look at the interview!

Metallic Art Graphics featured at Top Music Festivals & Fine Art Festivals All Summer 2011!

This year as the school year ends, the gallery season slows down, and
the Summer heats up, John Crutchfield & MAG take to the road to be
featured in some of the top music festivals and fine art craft shows.

This year’s lineup includes:
Gold Coast Fine Art Show (Amdur Productions) Chicago July 7th – 10th
The WXPN Xponential Music Festival in Philadelphia July 21st – 24th
FloydFest Music Festival in Floyd, VA July 28th – 31st
Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, RI August 5th – 7th
Philadelphia Folk Festival August 18th – 21st

At each of these juried music & art festivals, John Crutchfield will display
his mixed media Fine Art and Accessories including his famous Decorative
Inlaid Graphic Guitars. Last year several famous musicians like Chris Botti
signed his guitars and mandolins, while Robert Francis who was touring
with Jason Mraz at the time had commissioned a White Falcon Guitar
(featured on Jay Leno & Vogue Magazine).

This year we are looking forward to some stellar music and exciting
exhibition possibilities for our new designs. Hope to see you there!

John Teal Crutchfield Exhibits at Lincoln Center Performing Arts NYC

Exhibiting nationally and internationally John T Crutchfield has produced graphic art designs in mixed media fiberglass on brass for the past 25 years. These custom made works of art consist of a unique amalgamation of advanced graphic designs and linear applications of intense colors on a high quality brass base. The artworks are then cast in a durable clear fiberglass encasement. This year John celebrates 20 years of exhibiting in New York City at the prestigious Lincoln Center for Performing Arts, as a juried member of the “American Crafts Festival”. This is a nationally recognized juried art festival with exhibiting artist of the highest caliber from all parts of the nation. John Crutchfield is the only artist out of hundreds who applied and was accepted from Richmond, VA. Over the years he has maintained a presence at the show and garnered a loyal following, including
prominent New Yorkers and stars such as James Levine, the conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. The exhibition takes place on June 11th & 12th on the plaza of Lincoln Center NYC at 64th St Columbus Avenue 11am-9pm each day, and is produced by the American Concern for Arts & Craftsmanship. During the rest of the year, John can be found at a number of fine art shows and music festivals. His work has been photographed and written about in the American Art Collector Book and showcased in several galleries including the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery NYC and the Artemis Gallery Richmond, VA. On their website, the video features Penelope Carrington interviewing John Crutchfield. It also gives a tour of Artemis Gallery and the MAG Studio and films a deomnstration of the MAG technique.
